An intensive experience of herd dynamics

Come immerse yourselves in the experience of the herd, 6 days of observation and teaching with our herd of 27 equine teachers on a beautiful 80 acre retreat facility.

For years we have had our community ask for being able to come and spend time sitting with the herd and being immersed in their space and dynamics.

Herd language is a rich language that we don’t often get the experience to witness, or sit within a herd that is 20+ horses in size that roam domestically on 50 + acres.

There is rich complexity, dynamics, and leadership that is found in a large herd where we can observe the layers of dynamics, community and an eco system that we can find so much teaching and wisdom from.

The immerse with the herd experience is an opportunity to come and sit with the herd for 6 days and be in their community, watch the nuances of their relationships, understand horse language in a deeper way and find the layers of wisdom that feel relevant to your space with horses and also your teachings.

In a world where we don’t often get to see horses in an environment such as this, it is a great learning opportunity to receive clarity of how a community of a herd works, how to observe different leadership styles and what we can learn by being immersed in a herd of horses that can be as close to natural as possible.

The immerse with the herd experience is a learning space, a place to gather content and observation, to gain more insight into the behaviour and language of the herd and to receive what it feels like to be held in the herd as deeply as our teaching herd of 20+.

The experience

On an 80 acre retreat facility in the mountains of British Columbia you will find our conscious herd of wise equine teachers that roam 50-60 acres of our property.

Our big herd consists of 20 horses that live in a rich and dynamic culture of a herd that is layered with its own ecosystem and community.

Our elder herd of 7 which as a smaller herd is not as large of an area can witness another kind of observing and witnessing of a herd dynamic.

To know the nuances of relational community of a herd means you need to sit and observe them for more than one sitting, the opportunity to come for 6 days, means you get to witness the different behaviours and relationships within the herd, different leadership styles and how different herds hold their leadership with a range of ages to learn and gain more insight into their community.

Our herd also holds a consciousness of being immersed in teaching work. For the last 10 years at our retreat facility they have taught and shared their wisdom with hundreds of people, there is an awareness that they bring to their space, that goes beyond just being a horse, where we get to experience the magic of the horse as a deeply earthly rooted being and a being that intuitive and wise that brings a consciousness to humanity that is deeply impactful.

You get to bring your curiosity, your biases, and your inquiries to this herd, to see how they live, create and hold, to get to see a herd and how they live in this natural environment that supports not only their well being but also their range and capacity as wayshowers.

You get to sit and observe in the lens of both hearing from those that know this herd deeply and being able to receive the herd through your own lens and being curious of what is found there and what the herd is wanting to share with you.

You are truly able to sit in immersion and understand the dynamics of a herd as community, as wisdom holders and as horses.

What is included:

  • 6 days of immersive time with the herd that include both guided facilitation and the opportunity to sit in your own space of observation and learn. You will receive a minimum of 6 guided sessions with our herd in observation, one each day.

  • 8 nights of accommodation in a private cabin to reflect travel time.

  • Catered Meals

  • Our Journey of equus program that brings about teaching videos to deepen your time and experience with the herd.

  • Opportunity to gather content, wisdom and experience with our herd of horses, you are able to video and take pictures for your own learning and program.


Who is this immersive for?

Immerse the herd experience is for equine facilitators and practitioners that want to deepen their language and understanding of horses and their wisdom to bring forward in their work.

For horse women that are curious about being immersed in a herd of horses to experience a herd on a deeper level for their own personal exploration and curiosity of horses.

Requirements and qualifications:

You must have previous horse experience and ability and confidence to hold safety for yourself and horses in a herd of 20+. This is not for new horse people that aren’t confident or have experience being around horses.

Horse experience means you have the ability to orient and know how to read basic horse language, and know the signs of a horse expressing and communicating a boundary and you are able to be respectful of the safety of the horse and also yourself by being near a large prey animal.

While there will be times that you will have someone in the herd with you to hold safety, you will also get the opportunity to be in the horse space on your own and will need to know how to respect and hold safety with our herd.

  • 7 nights stay in a private cabin.

  • 6 days of observation and immersion with our herd, including 6 guided facilitation sessions with our faculty. 

  • Shuttle to and from the ranch if you are travelling in

  • Catered Meals: (if you are choosing the catered option) this includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • Access to our journey of equus program that includes teaching videos and content to deepen your experience pre and post retreat.
