Creating a Sacred Space for Our Horses

When we are offering this space of equine facilitated learning with our horses, we must also remember to create a sacred space for them.

Horses are more than just tools that we use for personal development with our clients.

They are sacred beings in relationship with us and our partners in the delivery of transformation and wisdom for those that seek us out.

When we lead first from remembering our horses are our partners, and listening to what a sacred space is for them, we create a space that is potent, that builds trust for not just our horses, but for those that come to seek us out in this work.

How do we do that?

We have to lead with the intention of building trust with our horses in this space and partnership first and then teach our clients to come into that space the same way.

What it means is that we slow down the entry and space with our horses, building a foundation and curiosity of how we build this relationship from a space of trust.

Understanding and leading with an intention where we are present to what our horses' needs are is an important part of the dynamic of leading with them as partners instead of tools.

To give more depth to this space and conversation, we recorded a video with our herd to reflect this space and speak to and give examples of what it means to create sacred space with our horses in this work.  You can watch that below.

This is an ongoing conversation and space of exploration for us to deepen and we wanted to offer this layer today.

Let us know where this resonates and where perhaps you have any deepening of questioning around how to create this space with your horses and your clients.

Love your mentor and guide,
Hillary
